There’s this awesome place called PS Cafe at Paragon. They have branches in Dempsey and Palais too. But I always visit the Paragon branch because there are less people and free parking for my mum who is a Citibank cardholder
Claudia:
My mum and I shared the Signature House ($21), which is baby spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, golden raisins, marinated mushrooms and fresh herbs tossed in balsamic prune and garlic dressing. You can order it with honey -dijon chicken breast too, but we decided that it would have been too much meat for us. Anyway, the dressing was too sour. I never liked balsamic vinaigrettes because of their acidic nature, but my mum loves balsamic vinegar, so we decided to order this. However, even she thought that the dressing was too sour. Avoid this dish if you are not a fan of balsamic vinegar.
We also shared a main, the P.S Burger ($29), which was Pan seared Wagyu and US Chuck Patty stacked with Cheddar cheese, baby spinach, caramelized onion aioli, tomatoes and bacon on toasted turkish served with roasted herbs and bbq spiced rustic potatoes.
I loved the bbq spiced rustic potatoes with the dipped into the aioli. The only criticism I have is that the serving is too small. I hate it when restaurants give small servings, it just makes me plain unhappy even before I start eating the delicious food. I always tell myself that if I ever set up a restaurant, I would serve generous portions of good quality food. The patty in the burger was cooked to perfection. It was not tough at all and still had its juices sealed in, which meant that the Turkish bread was soaked with all that yummy beef goodness! One problem I had was that the patty was too thin. A great burger too me is a huge fat patty with airy soft buns. There was no huge fat patty in this case, which left me wanting for more.
The food at PS is a bit pricey. But I love the fact that they don’t put MSG into their food, and the food is all healthy, with loads of vegetables. Watch out for more reviews on the food at PS because my mum has lots of their vouchers to use up, hahaha. Free meals enable me to try almost everything on their menu. I’m looking forward to more good food
